Dial-Up Networking: A Proper setup for your ISP.
Step 01: Double-Click My Computer
Step 02: Double-Click On Dial-Up Networking
Step 03: Now it will tell you to type a name for this connecting, so type a name!
Step 04: Click Next.
Step 05: Next it's going to ask for the phone number you're dialing. This is your access number!
Step 06: Click Next.
Step 07: Click Finish.
Step 08: Right Click on you're new DUN Connectoid.
Step 09: Left Click on Properties.
Step 10: Click on Configure, Drop the speed of your modem to 57600 if it's a 56k modem.
Step 11: Click OK.
Step 12: Click the Server Type tab at the top.
Step 13: You're ISP may have certain settings that need to be checked in here. Check with them!
Step 14: Click on the TCP/IP Settings button.
Step 15: In the middle you will see Specify Name Server Address... CLICK THAT!
Step 16: Next enter in your ISP's Primary and Secondary DNS Numbers (IP's).
Step 17: Leave WINS Alone.
Step 18: Click Ok 3 times. Double click on the DUN Connectoid.
Step 19: Enter in your user name and password, make sure the phone number is correct.
Step 20: Click on Connect and sit back and get on the internet! Have fun!
